Although the end caps are in finished pine the futon frame itself is a sturdy steel frame work with a fold out mesh section for the mattress. The Venus 2 Seater Futon is easily opperatable, implimenting a simple spring mechanism and folds out in three sections to form a sleeping area equivalent to a double bed.The thick, buttoned futon mattress (available in Navy, Lilac & Terracotta) is comfortable folded up or laid out flat.
